The first thing you must know of Brynmor Tankevwe is that he is fiercely loyal to King Declan and the people of Aerlion. The second thing you must know is it has been rumored that the Captain of the Guard fought a bull orc barehandedly- and won.
This great feat seems impossible but many believe it without question, for the Captain is a tank of a man himself. With his broad shoulders and barrel chest adding to his already intimidating height, it is no wonder people so readily believe the rumor. The Captain is inclined to let them believe, for stopping such a wild rumor has proven harder to do than wrangling wild horses. He will always set the record straight when young cadets question the validity of the rumor--- it were actually two bull orcs, he'd say with a wink and a grin.
The Captain is skilled in all means of weaponry- from pikes to bows, from bows to morning stars. He is considered an expert swordsmen though he favors both the large two handed battle axe and the war hammer, though neither are generally practical in combat. He carries an array of weapons on a daily basis, two daggers sheathed beside a heavy axe on his right, and a sword that hung on his left side. Knife in the boot- always had to have a knife in the boot. Who goes anywhere without a knife in the boot?!
As the Captain of the Guard he demands respect and discipline from his men at all times, though he knows it is best to earn their respect rather than gain it through fear. Brynmor is known to often spar with the King as well as lower recruits and guardsmen to better their skills. He will also often see to it that any personal problems can be brought before him so that he may help his men.
Brynmor's family immigrated to Aerlion to escape a harsh ruler in their homeland. As such he has a dislike for tyrannical rulers, be they a local gang or the highest Royal. It is no secret that he harbors a certain distaste for Queen Emeila who reminds him so much of the rulers of his homeland.
His father, who had gone by the name of Caulter upon his arrival in Aerlion, worked his way through the ranks of the military before winning favor with the Old King, Declan's father. He earned his family a place in the noble ranks of their new home just as they had been in a similar position of power in their homeland.
Caulter changed the names of his children when they arrived, hoping to give them a better chance of blending within the realm. Their last name remained the same, however, as it was a proud name that he would not see given up.
Brynmor's father has recently been murdered in cold blood, stabbed in the back by a masked assailant. Brynmor has pledged to bring his father's murderer to justice no matter what means. His mother is very much alive and doing well, residing within their family home. It sits deep within Aerlion's boarders and is surrounded by fertile farm lands, boasting one stable of twenty horses. Byrnmor is the eldest of his father's three children- he has a younger brother and a younger sister. His sister has found her own life married to another noble and has given Brynmor the gift of being an uncle twice now- both times to beautiful young nieces of whom he would tear the world apart with war for should anything ever happen to them.
